Abstract The content of flavonoids and tannins in the overground parts of
Achillea crithmifolia
W. et K. and
Tanacetum vulgare
is in direct dependence on the ecological conditions of living.
The results obtained show that the quantity of flavonoids in
Achillea crithmifolia
is the same in
the industrial and background polluted district, and the quantity of tannins does not differ
significantly in all investigated regions. There is a higher accumulation of flavonoids in
Tanacetum
vulgare
in the district with industrial and transport pollution, and the content is reduced in the
background polluted district. The accumulation of tannins is the highest in the industrial polluted
district and lowest in the region with transport pollution.
Key words:
flavonoids, tannins, pollution,
Achillea crithmifolia, Tanacetum vulgare
The flavonoids and tannins are the most important biologically active
substances in
Achillea crithmifolia
and
Tanacetum vulgare.
They are found in
all parts of the plants but are mostly accumulated in the actively functioning
leaves, blossoms, fruits and in the covering tissue, where they perform protecting
functions (Асенов, 1988). Their application is related to their antiseptic, anti
inflammatory and astringent action ( А с е н о в и др., 1998).
