Middle Danube Plain, on a slope in the valley of the Studena River,

between the villages of Novgrad and Vardim, with flowers and fruits, 04.2002.

Until now this rare species was known only from North-Eastern Bulgaria

and Northern Black Sea coast ( К у з м а н о в , 1970).

Golyama Burzina Island, the region of the town of Belene, with flowers,

Dimitrov (2001) has reported the species as a new one for the flora of

Bulgaria from the region of the town of Russe (Northeastern Bulgaria). It is

enlisted in the Bern Convention and has to be included in the new edition of

the The Red Data Book of Bulgaria as rare. The species could be found in

other places along the Bulgarian coast of Danube River.

Middle Danube Plain, on rocky slopes in the locality ,,Vurtilovetz“, south

from the village of Lyubenovo (Nikopol district), with flowers, 16.05.1998.

This endangered plant was found on a calcareous terrain south from the

city of Pleven, village of Jassen (T z о n e v, 1997), Protected Area „Kailaka",

villages of Novachene, Kartozhabene, Turnene. In all localities the populations

are small and isolated.

Middle Danube Plain, locality ,,Shovene“, west of Belene, in the

central drainage canal of the Belene floodplain, 11. 11. 1999.

Information about this locality can be found in some Bulgarian sources

(Тодоров, 1984), but materials are kept only in the Nature Division of the

Museum of History in the city of Pleven. The species is endangered. Until 1990

most of its localities along the Danube River have not been confirmed and it

has disappeared from some of the localities - the „Persinski Blata“ Reserve and

,,Srebarna“ Reserve. More lasting localities were found only along the Black Sea

coast and in some separate localities in the Thracian plain (Йорданов, 1970).
