vladimir@ad.plantphys.msk.ruTea cell culture, which has the ability to sinthesize the flavans, was
treated with the inducer of polyploidization, colhicine, at 0.03%. That teatment
caused the formation o f a new line o f the cells. The cells o f the line were
characterized by bigger size(compared to the control cells), by triploid number
o f chromosomes (compared to diploid control cells), and by reduced content
o f phenolic compounds. Thus, the increase of the level o f ploidy in tea cell
culture under the colhicine treatment leaded to the decrease in formation o f
phenolic compounds, as it was previously observed in spontaniously
polyploidized tea culture cells.
