One o f the most important questions o f plant biotechnology questions

about functions o f secondary metabolism in plant cell tissue culture.

The law o f secondary metabolism in the cells

in vitro

is different from

thus intact plants, what connected with specific cultured cells as artificial

biological (following to Nosov A.M.) as population of c e lls .

Determine o f space characteristics, in which exist the ceil population

have important population relationship in system "callus-substrate" and it

influence on secondary production.

In the laboratory o f biotechnology o f KSTA was studying influence the

method and conditions o f cultivation on production dimeric indole alkaloids

by the cell culture C. roseus.

The cultivation on agar, on polyurethane discs and in suspension culture

was investigated. The medium contained mineral basis by MS and NAA (10

mg/l) BAP (1 mg/l). Alkaloid yield was estimated by HPLC. Cultivation cell

culture on inert matrix (polyurethane disks) stimulated the formation somatic

embryoids and increased vinblastin and vincristin yield. It was 511,7 mg/g

d.w. and 33,5 mg/g d.w. respectively in compare with 330 mg/g d.w. vinblastin

and 11,5 mg/g d.w. vincristin on agar and 31,2 - vinblastin w ith absence

vincristin in suspension.

Increasing growth rate and production level connected probably with

several reasons.

Liquid medium provided more complete using substances to the cells.

R eticu lar structure o f polyurethane may consider as a model o f

secondary tissue plant organism with it mechanic functions.
