Factors o f the optim isation o f clonal m icropropagation and long-term
maintainance o f regenerating plant were studied in detail during recent ten
years. We showed that species- and variety-specificity, age and physiological
state o f maternal plants are important for high survival ability o f unitial explants
and obtaining o f healthy plants. The influence o f phytohormones as well as
temperature, light and water regimes in the course o f shoot formation and
th e ir rooting on the multiplication coefficient was studied. Some specific
pecularities o f photosynthetic apparatus biogenesis in autotrophic and
m ixotrophic tissue culture were revealed. Nearly 30 species and varieties o f
woody (ornamental, essential oil-producing and wild roses; ananas, rubber
plant etc.) and 30 species and ecotypes o f herbaceous (mentha, lavanda,
lavandin etc.) plants were maintained
in vitro
during many years. These
plants preserved their potential capacities fo r acclimatisation and cultivation
under field conditions.
