Dendranthema essential oils are o f great importance both for the

Perfumery and the Cosmetic industry. Their bactericide effect results in the

possibility to produce some cosmetics and health improving perfumery

remedies. Planned producing virus-free Dendranthema plant material for

commercial flower growing have been carried out at our enterprise for several

years. There is an

in vitro

collection of some new Dendranthema cultivars.

To realize the scientific project of plant tissue cultivation fo r perfume

substances producing and enriching the assortiment of natural sweet-scented

ones and natural cosmetic raw material, several the most prospective

Dendranthema cultivars were estimated fortheir processing suitability. Such

cultivars as Westland, Promenade, Penny Lane, Daymark and Vitchizna

have been analyzed. Several primary experiments were carried out to study

plant biomass extractive ability. It was revealed the percentage of the extract

production, relating to dry matter, varied in different Dendranthema cultivars

from 0.75(Westland) to 2.88% (Penny Lane).The cultivar Promenade turned

out to be the most prospective one, it was marked as 4,5 b. and characrerized

by specific herbaceous sweet-scent with the addition of resinous one.

Thus, the possibility to produce some sweet-scented substunces from

different Dendranthema cultivars has been found out. In was proved all

investigated D.cultivars could be used as a raw material for essential oils

producing.

Our enterprise has got a possibility to produce commercial lots of this

raw material fo rthe Perfumery and the Cosmetic industry both in the green

house and in the field.
