G ladiolus are apopular cutflower crop grown the world over. W ith

increasing demands o f the horticultural industry fo r higbquality.diesease-

?ree propagation stock, tissue culture technigues w ill become more and

more essential along the production line. According to our investigation the

padobutazol (РАС) induced the intensive proliferation ofbuds and inhibited

the lea f growth in the nutrient: medium with 6 - benzylam inopurme (BAP)

and naphthalenacetic acid (NAA) .The highest number o f shoots per explant

(the apical buds) have been obtained in the presense o f lmg/1 РАС. The

presence o f РАС (I0mg/l) in the medium with high level sucrose (60g/l) incresed

diameter ofconniets and reduced period formation conniets in 1,5 times.Shoots

subculfured to liquid medium containing РАС 0,1 mg/l and IAA 0,5 mg/l

(indolylacetic acid) fonned short roots and leaf with thick cuticula. These

shoots transplanted in the fild directly without adaptation in wet

chamber.ln

our laboratory the two efficient systems of mass propagation o f the gladiolus

plants have been alaborafed. The first sistem o f mass propagation of the

gladiolus plants destined fo r countries w ith cold season. This sistem permit

to obtain the gladiolus minicomilete in vtro during all the year. The minicormlets

keep by low temperature (-+4 +8°C) ve ry well. The m inicorm lets are

accumulated fo r planting in the fild . TTIis sistem was approbated in Moldova.

The second sistem of mass propagation of the gladiolus plants destined for

countries w ithout cold season. This sistem perm it to obtain rooting plants

without preliminary adoptation to low humidity air. The sistem was approbated

in Colombia.
