DYNAMICS OF CHANGES IN THE STRUCTURE
OF PRODUCTION OF ANIMAL PRODUCTION
IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The arƟcle notes that for the period from 2000 to 2017. In the country, there was a reducƟon in the number of livestock animals in large-scale formaƟons and at the
same Ɵme an increase in the share of meat producƟon in them. In the structure of the concentraƟon of livestock animals, there was an overflow of the number of
livestock of domesƟc animals from large-scale to small-scale forms of management: especially caƩle, cows, horses from agricultural organizaƟons to peasant (farmer)
farms. In 2017, 44% of caƩle, 85.6% of pigs, 82.6% of poultry were concentrated in agricultural organizaƟons. The share of meat products produced in agricultural
organizaƟons at the same Ɵme for caƩle meat was 33.7%, for pig meat — 82.5%, for poultry meat — 92.2%. In 2017, households of the populaƟon showed the largest
concentraƟon of the number of goats (76.5%), horses (51.9%), cows (44.6%), and sheep (43.7%). There is an obvious reducƟon in the number of large livestock and
an increase in the number of small domesƟc animals. However, such a dynamic in a strategic perspecƟve can lead to irreversible consequences of a deterioraƟon in
the level of availability of meat and meat products to the populaƟon of the Russian FederaƟon, since the level of marketability of agricultural products in large-scale
business forms has tradiƟonally been and remains the highest. In our opinion, a pragmaƟc and cardinal system of measures to bring agriculture out of crisis is required
to ensure food security.
