Book of Bulgaria with category “tlireatened” is presented, The new locality is the second one for this species in
the country found in the iloristie region Danube plain (U-23 of the UTM grid map of Bulgaria). The fern grows
with other species of high conservation importance as
Dionthus nardifannis
Jankn,
Stachys arenartaeformis

Key words: Asplenium lepidum
. chorologv, Danube plain, Bulgaria
The genus
Asplenium
L. (Aspleniaceae) is represented in Bulgaria by 10 species
(Андреев , 1992). The ferns
Aspiemum lepidum
C. Presl. and U.
cimeifolium
Vjv. are
extremely rare for the Bulgarian Пот known until recently from one or two localities
each. They possess a weak ecological plasticity and low competitive abilities. Their
populations contain a low number of individuals which me vulnerable by the
anthropogenic activity. The rest of Asplenium species found in Bulgaria are plants with
vast areas in Europe, demonstrating high morphological variation and potential for
hybridization.
