RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

It is well worth the effort to digitize the images of the flower components. The

improvement in the image quality (contrast and brightness) is very important when it is

necessary to work with delicate, small and very invisible flower objects such as wings of

Oxytropis

and especially

Onobrychis

spp. (Figs, 2 and 3). The application of digital

imaging to measure tire flower cliaracters guarantees the accuracy of the results. An

additional convenience is the possibility to import the values directly into a statistical

computer programme.
