Today, the most actual problem is to apply some biological and

agrotechnical methods o f plant protection and, also, to introduce pest and

disease resistant grapevine cultivars instead of chem ical pesticides.

Complex- resistant grapevine cultivars growing is very profitable. It declines

both the expenditre of labour and the agricultural chemicals application. The

main reason of retarding the complex-resistant grape cultivars commercial

growing is the lack of planting material. Conventional methods of vegetative

propagation can not provide the necessary expansion rate of the area under

the prospective grapevine cultivars. Tissue culture laboratory of ChAgrRI

worked out the technology of rapid grapevine m icropropagation. Clonal

m icropropagation incraesesthe yearly efficiency o f multiplication several

thousand times as much. That is why we are able to produce about 20-30

thousand seedlings per year. As a result, the time of the new prospective

grapevine cultivars commercial application is reduced from 25-30 years to 2-

3 ones. These indices could be improved 20-30 and more times as much by

means of simultaneous using the micropropagation

in vitro

and conventional

vegetative one.

In 1989-1994 the

in vitro

collection o f some new prospective pest and

disease resistant grapevine cultivars originated in the agricultural enterprises

of the Chechen Republic ,the Daghestan and Rostov region had been created.
