Higher plants cells culture acquires importance both fo r biotechnology
fundamental research and practical application in medicine, cosmetology
and food industry. Patent search testify that "old" medical plants begin to
application for new fixing with more complete uncover of their biological active
substances (BAS) synthesis biosynthetic possibilities.
On principle new ginseng cell lines have been obtained by IFR-5
(GCCCHP N-11) strain grow on nutrition substances with addition of elicitors
secreted from Betula pubescens Ehr. leaves, Quercus robur L. bark,
Glycirrhiza glabra L. root, Cetraria islandica Ach.. Influence of these elicitors
different concentration on growth and biosynthesis of primary and secondary
metabolites growth in initial strain has been studied in the process of the
cell line selection. The optimal technology o f the initial strain cultivation with
model elicitors has been worked out.
The obtained cell lines differ from the initial strain in morphology and
phytochem istry composition. Together with the triterpenoid glycosides
inherent to ginseng these cell lines contain BAS complex not inherent for
these plants which is contained in brought elicitors, such as flavanoid
glycosides, tannins, lichen acids, calendulosides, carbohydrates, etc.
This method enables to obtain cell lines with average 15-20% increased
contents of extractive substances and increased BAS spectrum. The obtained
cell lines biomass can serve as the raw material for the new medicine
substances with the active substances unique combination and the new
valuable pharmacological properties.
