imm une response proteins. The IL-1β is known to excret into intracellular
space in human blood. The protein is activated with the help of specific
proteinase o f unknown other properties. In this study the expression o f IL-1 β
in transgenic hairy root culture of horseradish w as investigated. The developed
system o f cultivating o f horseradish in liquid medium is convenient for the
study o f protein excretion and the accumulation o f preparative scales of
proteins. The designed gene where the IL-1 p sequence is under the control
o f plant 35S -prom oter, was entered Into the structure o f binary vector.

strain resulted in hairy root culture where IL-1 β is expressed. The data of
imm unoblotting assay specify that the product of IL-1β gene is a 31 kD
protein. So, it corresponds to the size o f prointerleukin. Obviously, the
proteinase specific to full-length IL-1 β gene product is a b s e n t in higher plants.
Nowadays we determine the level of IL-1 β in media where hary root iscultivated.
imm unoassay techniques are used for this aim .
