It is well known that the most important condition for succesful cell

engineering is the high de-differentiated tissues capacity to produce shoot-

regenerants. Conventional methods o f Gram ineous cell-engineering

(especially for Triticum ssp.) are focuced on so called "embryogenic calli",

although their early indentification is rather contradictory. Therefore, while

working at three spring wheat genotypes of

T riticum aestivum

such as cv.

Tajognaya and Fotos and 592 NIISHCRNJ breeding lines, we payed special

attention to these genotypes capacity to form well indentificated morphogenic

structures. Further they produced shoot-regenetants as often as about 100%

frequency. So, we expect this phenomenon revealed by us to help us to

improve the efficiency of the manipulation with wheat callus tissues.
