INTRODUCTION

Technology is analyzed and evaluated in the

scope of production treatments in animal housing.

Nowadays in Poland designed and also existing animal

housing should comply technological standards which

ensure animal welfare and should be compatible with

Polish and EU law regulations.

Thesis on topic «Multicriterial evaluation of free-

stall cowsheds for dairy cows» is realized fromthe funds

of Ministry of Science and High Education through

National Science Centre in Krakow, in the frame of

grant, number of agreement 7065/B/P01/2011/40.

Directions of scientific-research activities for the

next time:

- analysis of state and needs in the scope of

technology and buildings in animal housing and safety

of production;

- research of minimalizing of economics inputs,

including energetic inputs in milk production and

other animal materials;

- research of environmental conditions in

housing buildings and definition of directions of

improving of state;

- research of obtainment of non-conventional

energy (for example) with the significantly use of

substrate from natural manure;

- research of effectiveness of using of robots for

milking, feeding and natural manure removing;

- complex elaboration and implementation of

models of solutions of livestock objects with different

mechanization, automation and robotizing level

fulfilling particular criteria: economical, energetic,

animal welfare, ecological and other.

Taking into account problems mentioned above,

in the thesis it was attempted to make evaluation

of existing buildings for dairy cows in the scope

of exploitation costs of machines, equipment and

buildings, human labour inputs, energetic inputs and

microclimate conditions.

In the thesis there was made review of compulsory

Polish and EU law regulations and polish and foreign

literature in the scope:

- housing systems of dairy cows [1; 2; 3];

- mechanization,

automatisation

and

robotisation of technological treatments of milking

and preliminary treatments [4; 5], preparing of feed

and removing and storaging of natural manure [6];

- microclimate parameters and factors in

formation of microclimate in free-stall cow sheds

for dairy cows [7];

- costs of milk production and energetic

inputs [5];

- methods of designing of functional-spatial

solutions [8; 9].

SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM

Scientific problemwas formulation three questions

as the result of literature analysis and preliminary

research:

- how do technological solutions influence on

mechanization level and energetic inputs in cow

sheds ?

- how do technological solutions influence on

formation of microclimatic conditions in cow sheds?

- how do mutual relationships between elements

of functional-technological solutions of cow sheds

influence on costs in milk production?

Main aimof the thesis wasmulticriterial evaluation

of free-stall cow sheds for dairy cows.

Detailed aims:

- evaluation of technological–functional elements

of free-stall cow sheds of dairy cows;

- definition of decision-making variables

characterising of treatments in milk production;

- designation of mechanization level of objects

researched;

- definition of influence of housing systems of

dairy cows on energetic inputs in milk production;

- definition of mutual relationships of
