ISOLATED CULTURE TECHNIQUE FORMCROPROPAGATOIN OF

TREES

T.S.Momot

prosp. Raevskogo, 22-75, St-Petersburg, 194064, Russia

Organogenesis was induced in 30 tree species, mainly in conifers(in

22 species o f conifers). The initial material were the tips and roots o f sterile

seedlings, cotiledons and their explants, vegetative buds, tips of young shoots

and stems derived from mature trees of different ages (from 20-, 30-, 50- and

100-year- old trees). The intensity o f organogenesis on explants from mature

trees o f disserent ages went on the same regardkess o f the age o f the tree.

Micropropagation was achieved in 16 species of conifers by using juvenile

material. The plants were transfered to soil, allthe aceptially formed plants

developed normally fo r 3-5 years.

The micropropagation of

Sequoia sempervirens

was developed by using

explants from 20-40 - y e a r-o ld trees.
