The microorganism hydrolases action on the

in vitro

growing potato

p lan ts is fo r the firs t tim e inves tiga ted . P lan t fo rm s resistan t to

phytopathogenic fungi have been obtained as result o f plant growing on the

medium with small pectinases concentrations. The plant resistance seems

to be associated with the action of oligogalacturonides formed. In other

experiments the potato regenerants have been obtained by cultivation o f

cells in the medium with high pectinase concentrations. Resistant to

pectinases regenerants are characterized by the resistance to various

bacterial and fungal infections. The plant forms with simultaneous resistance

to several pathogens were obtained. The share o f the pectinase resistant

regenerants had the increased contents o f endogenous cytokinins and

increased activity level of plant chitinases that are known to protect the

plants against phytopathogenic fungi. Thus, correlation between potato plant

resistance to microorganism pectinases

in vitro

and plant resistance to

pathogens is shown for the first time. The data on the possible participation

of endogenous cytokinins in the protective reactions against pathogens by

increasing o f the plant resistance to pathogen pectinases and on increase

o f plant chitinase activity are considered.
