deineko@mailhost.bionet.nsc.ruIn some times T-DNA insertions can change to development o f some
signs among transgenic plants. Such alterations are classified as T-DNA
induced mutations (Shell et al., 1992).
Transgenic tobacco plants (
Nicotiana tabacum, SR1)
with changed flower
morphology (longostily, mail sterility) were obtained.
The part of this plants in population has made 4,9 %. It is known that
signs connected with flower structures belong to conservative one from
evolutionary point o f view. Similar mutations are not revealed among 240 Ro
regenerated plants as well as 275 selfpollinated tobacco plants. It is possible,
that the morphological alterations of tobacco flower structure are connected
w ith T -DNA insertions. The close correlation between longostily and
kanamycin-resistance were demonstrated by genetic analysis.
Some others transgenic tobacco plants with different mutations (dwarf,
short period of development) were obtained.
The series o f genetic constructions permit to clone some genes
surrounding T-DNA insertions were created.
