Some trials of using isolated embryos for the purpose of further

coccomicose resistant breeding have been carried out.

We investigated perspective varieties and hybrids of frutescent cherry

(Cerasus fruticosa) and sour one (Cerasus vulgaris), which were used as

parental forms at distant hybridization. They were: "Maiskaya Lastochka",

"Ashinskaya” , and hexaploid hybrid 3-66-9.

Embryos, as a result of free pollination, were isolated and introduced

into culture on the MS and Sm irnov’s media at 30, 45, 60 days after full

blossoming in the field. Cultivation

in vitro

has been made at 20-21 °C and

natural light regimen with additional illumination.

We obtained morphologically normal viable plantlets on the medium

MS with 6-BAP from 1,0 up to 2,0 mg/l , as well as 6-BAP with GA in

concentration up to 5,0 mg/l in 30-day-old "M a is ka ya Lastochka" and

hexaploid 3-66-9 embryos.

Growth and the number of viable plantlets of 60-day-old embryos began

to increase. It should be noted, that some plantlets were obtained from one

embryo, in separate casesup to 11, this is the most important factor of

cultivation

in vitro

when we try to obtain coccomicose resistant forms and

hybrids.
