There is a "narrow" spot when virus free potato seed propagating. It is
the secondary v irus or viroid contamination. Therefore, to avoid this dangerous,
it is necessary to conducte the whole process o f potato microtuberization in
the strict sterile conditions. The bioreactor system is quite satisfied to these
requirements. We created the unique model of the bioreactorwith impulsive
nutrient medium spraying. Also, some suitable conditions fo r successful
potato m icrotuberization were found out. Stem explants were immobilized
on the specific net surface. Basing on the carried out experiments, we found
out the optimum way o f the cultural vessel loading, the necessary regimes
o f air, moisture and temperature conditions, and also, a succession o f nutient
medium changing. The analysis o f our experiments with
in vitro
potato stolon
cu ltu re resu lted in th e p o s s ib ility to regu la te the m ain stages o f
microtuberization such as mass stolonerifirization and tuber inducing. Using
this bioreactor model and the unique method of stolon cultivating, we obtained
a bulk o f m icrotubers (7-10 mm diameter) fo r two potato cultivars. These
tubers were characterized with nice size ranging and improved seed quality.
So, this experimental bioreactor and the method o f potato microtubers
producing are quite suitable fo r successful scaling up the process of virus
free potato microtubers propagation.
