INFLUENCE OF MINERAL FERTILIZERS ON GRAIN PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY

zemledel_niish@mail.ruThe field trials of different rates and proporƟons of mineral ferƟlizers were conducted on sod-podzolic clay loam
on the residual Permian clays. Different rates of mineral N, P and K ferƟlizers were studied in triple-established
field staƟonary trial started by N. G. Surovtsev in 1972–1974. It is a part of the Geographical Network of Agrichem-
ical Trials. The design is a sampling of the full factorial experiment, it includes 54 variants. This arƟcle deals with
22 of them. The studies took place on hulless oats and barley in the 6

and the 7
th
rotaƟon of the grain, fallow and
grasses crop rotaƟon. Hulless oats was culƟvated aŌer spring wheat following red clover. Barley with red clover
was culƟvated aŌer winter rye. Ammonium nitrate, double superphosphate and potassium chloride were applied.
Mineral ferƟlizers were spread before spring preplanƟng culƟvaƟon. No lime or organics were used. It was found
that mineral ferƟlizaƟon being higher, oats and barley producƟvity increased. Their producƟvity was mostly de-
pendent on N and P ferƟlizers and their interacƟon. Potassium had a significant effect on yield increment in com-
binaƟon with N only. A three-year average oats yield increase due to the ferƟlizers was 1.29–2.79 tons ha
-1
while
the reference variant gave 1.18 tons ha
-1
. Barley yield increment was 0.95–2.21 tons ha
-1
, the reference being
