In The Red Data Book of Bulgaria ( В е л ч е в ред., 1984) 5 taxa are listed,

four of them with category „rare" -

Viola orbelica

Pan ,

Pyrola media

Swartz,

Streptopus amplexifolius

(L.) D C,

Acer heldreichii

О r p h. ex В о i s s. and only

the species

Taxus baccata

L. is in the category „endangered". The last species

along with

Acer heldreichii

Or ph . ex Bo is s. and

Viola orbelica

P a n . i s

listed as „protected" in the Law of Biological Diversity (ДВ 6p.77/09.08.2002).

In the same law the species

Dryopteris carthusiana

(Vi 11.) H. P. Fu c h s ,

Dryopteris filix-mas

(L.) Sc ho t t . ,

Lilium martagon

L.,

Polygonatum odoratum

(M i 11.) D r u с e

(P. officinale), Dactylorhiza maculata

(L.) S о o,

Dactylorhyza

saccifera

(В г о n g n.) S о o,

Primula veris

L. and

Salix caprea

L. are included

in the group „under regime of protection and regulation use".

It is important to point out that nearly half of the taxa established around

(169) are medicinal plants ( Б о нд е в , 1995; ДВ бр. 29/07.04.2000). The

highest number of medicinal plants are recorded in the families Fabaceae

(16), Lamiaceae (16), Rosaceae (17), Asteraceae (12), Apiaceae (9) and

Caryophyllaceae (9). Six species marked with the symbol

are placed

under a special regime of protection and use -

Primula veris

L.,

Galium

odoratum

(L.) S с о p.,

Atropa belladonna

L.,

Sedum acre

L.,

Valeriana officinalis

L.,

Asplenium trichomanes

L. (ДВ 6p. 12/13.02.2004). The identification of the

medicinal plants and the knowledge of their status in the study area is of

considerable importance for the protection of their localities and regulated

collection.

Geoelements: the euroasiatic (Eur-As) geoelements (15.82

%)

prevail,

followed by the Euromediterranean (Euro-Med, 11.58 %), boreal (Boreal,

10.17 %), European (Eur, 9.89 %), subboreal (subBoreal, 9.60 %), Submedi

terranean (subMed, 9.30

%),

Eurosiberian (Euro-Sib, 8.47 %), cosmopolitan

(Cosm, 4.52

%),

Balkan endemics (Balk. E, 3.39

%)

and Mediterranean (Med,

1.92

%).

The remaining 16.10 % belong to different groups of geoelements

with values below 3

%

(Fig. 2).
