Nontraditional feed crops in feeding of high yielding braun swiss and holstein dairy

cows

Two experiments examined the effectiveness of the using in the feed ration of high yielding

dairy cows Holstein and Braun Swiss breeds haylage from perennial grass mixtures

Galega Orientalis and grasses. Investigated the chemical composition of the researched of

feed. Founded that feed mixtures with haylage from Galega Orientalis in general nutri

tional value are not inferior and on protein content and nitrogen-free extractives (at 20,8

and 7,04

higher than those traditionally used in feeding farm animals feed. The results

o f experiments on the digestibility in OOO «Kaluzhskaya Niva» showed that

the cows of

the experimental group is better assimilated protein by 7,9

and accordinatly less fat

and cellulose 3,92 % 3,01

(P < 0,05) while feeding by haylage with mixtures from per

ennial grasses Galea Orientalis in comparison with haylage from grasses and clover. Use

in feed mixture of dairy cows haylage Galega Orientalis leads to an increase in daily milk

yields by 2,48 %. At about the same fat content in milk of cows. The results of these exper

iments fully confirmed the feasibility and efficiency in high-lactating cows fed haylage

from the Galega Orientalis, as one of the main components of rations.
