WAYS TO IMPROVE EFFECTIVE USE OF AGRICULTURAL LAND
IN THE TERRITORY THE NORTH CAUCASUS FEDERAL DISTRICT

The arƟcle discusses the role, value and status of land resources, primarily agricultural land, on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal district. We studied the
landscapes of the Stavropol territory according to the degree of degradaƟon processes and found that the same areas oŌen develop not one, but several negaƟve
processes: flooding, water and wind (deflaƟon) erosion, salinizaƟon, increase in the area cramped and rocky lands. All of the above applies to the received data in the
Kabardian-Balkar Republic. Thus, in the North-East of the country dominated by deflaƟon, erosion and salinizaƟon and erosion, and on the North and the South-East
in areas dominated by the joint manifestaƟon of erosion and deflaƟon, and in the South in the southern mountain areas — ameniƟes. Based on our research, the
proposed recommendaƟons with the use of modern technologies, methods of remote sensing and GIS technologies for an objecƟve assessment of possible adverse
effects on the conservaƟon and improvement of agricultural land of the country.
