The paper includes the results of two-factor field trial related to studying the effect of mineral ferƟlizers and preparaƟon

“Mi-

kroel”

on grain yield, quality and fodder value of maze hybrids (

Zea mays

L.) that were bred both in Russia and abroad. The ex-

periment took place in the Republic of Mordovia on leached chernozem with a high content of loam under unstable precipi-

taƟon. Mineral ferƟlizers separately and in combinaƟon with

“Mikroel”

preparaƟon significantly increased maze producƟvi-

ty (by 1.14–2.79 t ha

-1

versus 6.51 t ha

-1

for the reference variant) and affected grain quality parameters. The highest yield oc-

curred for

“Delitop”

(FAO 210) and

“PR39V45”

(FAO 220), the lowest one — for “

Belkorn-250-MV”

(FAO 220) both under ferƟl-

izaƟon and without it. The invesƟgaƟon tested influence of weather, variety and ferƟlizaƟon on grain producƟvity. Improving

mineral nutriƟon increased crude protein content and reduced the concentraƟon of starch and nitrogen-free extracƟve sub-

stances. “NK Fal’kon” had the highest amount of crude protein and fat, while

“Delitop”

was rich in starch. Increase in crude pro-

tein (r = 0.97), fat (r = 0.95) and starch (r = 0.99) from 1 ha happened due to the increase in producƟvity. Maze grain showed

high content of gross and exchange energy.
