395 Chapter 4. Types of Agriculture in the United States. > As the basis for the definition of the types of agriculture in the United States the following criterions were taken: 1) the level of intensity of agricultural prodiction; 2) the correlation betweeri agriculture and productive cattle-raising; 3) the combi- : nation of agricultural (crops) branches; 4) the combinations of the branches* of productive cattle-raising, and 5) the degree and character of the marketability of agriculture. All these aspects of agriculture are well presented with the aid of calculation and analysis of the gross; agricultural income. In the Charts are shown the results of the application of this method to the Uni­ ted States and Canada (each State being taken as a unit). ’ Chart 1.
