A number of laboratory experiments demonstrated that the test precision as for repeatability and reproduc- ibility exceeded 98%, diagnostic specificity and sensitivity amounted to 100%. High specificity and sensitivity of the real-time RT-PCR are sup- ported by the international FMD diagnostic comparisons and by routine diagnostic and monitoring tests. The obtained data were used for valida- tion of the previously developed method. Key words: foot-and-mouth disease virus, real-time RT-PCR, valida- tion.
