Shulpin leading research worker, PhD (Biology), FGBI «ARRIAH», Vladimir; E-mail :shulpin@arriah.ru Summary A method for differentiation between Marek’s disease vaccine strains and field variants using polymerase chain reaction is suggested in the paper. It was shown by the example of highly virulent strain Md5 and vaccine strain 3004 that different DNA fragments of various lengths could be observed as a result of amplification of Meq gene selected region in strains of different pathotypes. The short configuration of Meq gene is indicative of Marek’s disease virus virulent strains while both long and short configurations are characteristic of vaccine strains. Key words: Marek’s disease virus, pathotypes, polymerase chain reaction. Электронная Научная СельскоХозяйственная Библиотека
