Samples were collected from poultry of different crosses from poultry farms where clinical signs were observed and from poultry farms where the given pathology was never registered. The materials presented in the paper show limited capabilities of serological methods for chicken viral hepatitis E diagnosis. Key words: chicken viral hepatitis E, ELISA, virus specific antibodies.
