Scherbakov 4 1 DVSc, Professor, FGBI «ARRIAH», Vladimir; Е-mail: mail@arriah.ru 2 leading research worker, PhD (Veterinary Medicine), FGBI «ARRIAH», Vladimir 3 senior research worker, PhD (Veterinary Medicine), FGBI «ARRIAH», Vladimir 4 leading research worker, PhD (Biology), FGBI «ARRIAH», Vladimir Summary The paper demonstrates the global FMD situation in 2010-2011, results of FMD epidemiological and serological researches performed in 22 RF Sub- jects in zones of high risk of FMD introduction and spread where FMD pre- ventive vaccination is applied. 10932 serum samples from cattle and small ruminants were ELISA tested for Type A, O, Asia-1 FMDV antibodies. Dif- ferent quantities of immune animals were identified in various settlements/ holdings/ farms and regions of the Russian Federation. Test results of 8070 serum samples for antibodies to FMDV non-structural proteins are indicative of the absence of animal infection in the RF buffer zone excluding one FMD affected settlement.
