An indirect variant of ELISA was developed based on the recombinant antigen to detect antibodies to pathogenic lepto- spires in porcine sera. Diagnostic specificity and sensitivity of the developed assay was 98.2 and 95.0 %, respectively. Over 13000 sera from 68 farms of the Russian Federation were tested using the developed assay. It was demonstrated that most Russian farms were free from pathogenic leptospires.
