The line that is obtained by inbreeding line Л and line T are marketed for meat when 120 days old and having a live weight of 4.7 kg. Its meat is tasty. “Maikopskiy” State Farm Reproducer, Krasnodar Territory Raised on this farm are white turkeys which are well adapted to conditions of intensive housing. These turkeys are used in the farms of the Ukrainian SSR, northern Caucasia and in the Volga River area. Average live weight of turkey-hen ranges from 7.5 to 8 kg; of turkey-cock— from 12 to 13 kg. Percentage of meat related to total weight of carcasses — 63%; egg production — 97 eggs. Starinsk Poultry Plant, Kiev Region The Starinsk Poultry Plant is engaged in breeding Moscow white and bronze turkeys. The white Moscow turkeys possess high reproductive qualities and vitality. Average eggs production — 93 eggs per laying hen. Live weight of turkey-hens — 7 kg and turkey-cocks— 14 kg. The bronze turkeys are widely distributed in the South-east zone of the Ukrainian SSR. The work has been done in the way of improving the early- riping of meet and egg production. Live weight of 12 months old turkey-hen — 7.5 kg and of turkey-cock 14 kg. Average eggs production of turkey-hens — 95 eggs. “Arkhangelsk” State Farm Reproducers, Krasnodar Territory This farm is conducting work with black Tikhoretsk turkeys which are raised in various zones of northern Caucasia, Central Asia and Western Siberia. In the last few years work has been done in the way of improv­ ing the early-riping of meat, egg production and reproductive qualities. At the present time the average live weight of the adult turkeys constitutes: turkey-hens — 4.5 to 5.5 kg and turkey-cocks — 9.5 to 10 kg. Egg production — more than 80 eggs. “Yagotin” Poultry Plant, Kiev Region Two lines of ducks are being perfected at the “Yagotin” Poultry Plant: “Yagotin” duck; live weight — 3.5 kg; annual egg production — 150 eggs; “Chkalov” duck; live weight — 3.9 kg\ annual egg production — 100 eggs. Ducks from the “Yagotin” line are selected as to the increase of live weight, while the ducks from the “Chkalov” line are selected as to the increase of egg production. These two lines are readily combined.
