Here a line Г of Moscow hens has been developed, which is easily combined with line 1 Russian white hens of the Bratsevsk Poultry Plant. This line has been developed by applying the method of profound selective-breeding. Line Г is used as the paternal farm. The hybrids produce 225—230 eggs on the average. A total of 300 thousand hybrid laying hens of this cross are kept in cage batteries at the Bratsevsk Poultry Plant. “Nagorniy” Poultry Breeding State Farm, Leningrad Region Cooperating with the scientific workers of the poultry breeding faculty of the Leningrad Agricultural Institute, the specialists of the poultry breeding plant have developed combining lines Hi, H2, H3, H4 of Russian white hens. The hens of these lines are noted for their high reproductive qualities and vitality. At the egg production contest in 1965 the pure lines of this enterprise took first place among Russian white hens. The average egg production of the line hens ranges from 200 to 220 eggs per laying hen. Life span up to 500 days — 99.3% guaranteed. The appearance of heterosis in hybrid hens guarantees the increase of egg production at of 8 to 12%. “Marx” Experimental Station of All-Union Scientific Research and Technological Institute of Poultry Breeding The “Marx” experimental station conducts profound breeding work in the way of perfecting specialized lines of the White Leghorn hens, lines Mb M2, M3. Line Mi is used in inbreeding as the primary paternal form. In 1965 an average of 258 eggs per laying hen was obtained from this line. This line is distinct for its high vitality. Line M3 is used in inbreeding as the maternal form. It is distinct for its long cycles of egg laying, high hatchability and egg production. In 1965 279 eggs per laying hen were obtained from hen line M3.
