NATURAL DISPLAY Exhibited in the natural display section are breeds, lines and hybrids presented by scientific research institutions, pure-strain poultry breeding plants and other poultry breeding husbandries in the country. The natural display is on an out-door plot in houses. Four-line Cross of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Poultry Breeding Exhibited are the combining lines of А, Б, В, Г of the Russian white breed hens. These lines have been developed with the use of inbreeding and are well adapted for raising on farms of the central zone of the Soviet Union. The egg production of the pure lines constitutes from 200 to 220 eggs; egg production of hybrids — from 250 to 260 eggs a year. Egg weight — 56 to 57 gm. Colour of egg-shell — white, th e paternal forms of this cross is distinct for its high reproductive qualities and extra vitality. The hybrids are characteriezd by a continual and consistent egg production and an ability to readily adapt themselves to local conditions. Cross 30—108 of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Poultry Breeding The combining lines 30 and 108 of the Russian white hens that are on display are easily acclimatized to the weather conditions of the southern zone of the country. Line 30 is used as the paternal form. Selected according to great weight of eggs and small live weight. Line 108 is selected according to high intensity of egg laying and favourable reproductive qualities. Egg production of hybrid hens — 240—245 eggs a year. The eggs are large, of regular shape; colour of egg-shell — white. “Yuzhnaya” Poultry Plant Crimean Region Exhibited are the combining lines of the Russian white hen breeds Ю-6, Ю-8. Ю-9, Ю-12 and their hybrids. The hybrids easily adapt themselves to the climatic, conditions of the southern zone of the Soviet Union. The hybrid laying hens annually yield from 240 to 250 eggs. The eggs are of regular shape and the egg-shell is white.
