HALL EXHIBITING THE PROCESSING OF POULTRY BREEDING PRODUCTS The slaughter and processing of poultry is carried out at state poultry combines and special meat-combine shops and poultry plants. Operating at poultry combines are shops furnished with all the necessary technological equipment for the production of melange and egg powder. POULTRY PROCESSING The poultry-processing enterprises are equipped with mechanized flow lines and other modern equipment. A fragment of a universal mechanized flow line for the initial processing of hens, chicks, turkeys and geese is shown in action in the hall. The line incorporates equipment intended for the initial treatment of the feathers and the waxing of water bird carcasses. Of the 26 processing operations 16 are automated and 4 are mechanized. Hourly output of line: 2000 hens and chicks or 1000 ducks and ducklings, 500 turkeys and geese. A model of a specialized mechanized flow line for processing turkeys is shown. The line includes 4 conveyors. The operations carried out on the first conveyor are as follows: slaughtering, thermal treatment, and feather removal from carcasses; on the second line: evisceration of carcasses and the processing of the food subproducts, on the third — cooling; and on the fourth — sorting out the carcasses according to weight. Hourly output of line — 500 turkeys. Also on display are models of machines intended for poultry processing: electrical stunning apparatus, slaughtering apparatus, automatic machine for removing feathers from all types of poultry (hens, chicks, ducks, geese, turkeys), automatic machine for removing feathers from hen and chick carcasses, pneumatic shears, cuticula-removing machine, device for marking poultry carcasses. A model showing a poultry-processing plant is exhibited in the hall. PRODUCTION OF EGG MELANGE The technological process of producing melange includes the following operations: sorting, washing, disinfection and break­ ing of the eggs, filtering and pasteurization of the egg matter, cooling, packing and freezing.
