Research Experimental Veterinary Institute, the Crimean Scien­ tific Research Veterinary Station and the All-Union Experimental Veterinary Institute. The prophylaxis of ascaridosis and heterakis has been worked out by the All-Union Helminthology Institute named after academician К. I. Skryabin. Constituting the basis of this method is the application of chemico-therapeutic means which influence the larva of ascarides and heterakises, as well as the desinvation of the premises. Effective means of combating ectoparasites advanced by the All-Union Scientific Research Institute on Bird Diseases make it possible to condition a husbandry in a short time. The diagnosis and specific prophylaxis of viruse hepatitis in ducks has been worked out by the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute on Poultry Breeding, the State Scientific-control Insti­ tute of Veterinary Preparations and the Lithuanian Veterinary Scientific Research Institute. The following new diagnostic and therapeutic preparations are displayed: a virus-vaccine, strain 26 (All-Union Scientific Research Institute on Bird Diseases) and a virus-vaccine of a starain which is adapted to the culture of duck embryo tissues (State Scientific- control Institute) against infectious laryngotracheitis; phenol haemolysat-vaccine against spirochetosis (Pyatigorsk inter-regional veterinary laboratory of bird diseases); coccydynia, a preparation ensuring the prophylaxis of birds against coccidiosis (All-Union Research Institute of Bird Diseases and State Scientific-control Institute); complex antigen — a highly active preparation for the simul­ taneous diagnosis of pullorum disease and tuberculosis in birds (Lithuanian Veterinary Research Institute); coloured poly-strain antigen for the diagnosis of pullorum disease in birds in blood-drop agglutination reaction and pul­ lorum antigen, a specific highly active preparation for the diag­ nosis of pullorum disease in birds (republican laboratory of young stock diseases Ministry of Agriculture, RSFSR); th e biological industry and the all-union amalgamation “Zoo- Veterinary Supply” (“Zoovetsnab”) of the USSR Ministry of Agriculture exhibits diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic means applied in poultry breeding. Scientific research designing institutes and designing organiza­ tions display projects of poultry plants, a system of machines and equipment for the complex mechanization of production processes in poultry breeding. The All-Union Research and Tech­ nological Institute of Poultry Breeding has worked out physiolo­ gically grounded data for designing ventilation systems.
